Anchored by a central sculpture by Antony Gormley, the works in this gallery explore the presence of the body through abstraction, evading direct representation of the human figure. Across sculpture, painting, and relief, the artists engage formal strategies rooted in geometry, volume, and materiality to evoke physicality in subtle and varied ways.
Aldo Chaparro uses the force of his own body to bend thin sheets of steel, imprinting gesture and weight into the surface. Zilia Sánchez suggests the contours of a female form through her stretched canvases. Other artists approach the body less overtly -- through minimalist compositions, abstracted gestures, or allusions to bodily scale and space.
Together these intergenerational practices navigate the liminal space between figuration and abstraction, offering a nuanced meditation on the body's presence, absence, and imprint.

Ancladas por una escultura central de Antony Gormley, las obras que se aprecian en esta galería exploran la presencia del cuerpo por medio de la abstracción, evadiendo la representación directa de la figura humana.
